South American Cuisine – Empanadas and Hautia, Andean Beef Stew
Empanadas are a popular South American appetizer. Our empanadas are crispy pastries made from a yucca and wheat dough and filled with pepper jack and feta cheese. This is an easy make ahead appetizer. Hautia is an aromatic Andean beef stew made with basil, mint, cilantro, rosemary, and parsley with balsamic vinegar and onions. It's a dish from the Quechua speaking people around Lima, Peru. This delicious stew will be served with chimichurri and quinoa. Students will set up/clean up their workstations. Course fee includes all supplies.
