Career Technical Education (CTE)

Career Technical Education (CTE) Programs/courses are designed to help students of all ages enter the workforce quickly or to update work skills. CTE courses provide academic and technical skills (or, knowledge and training) necessary to be successful in the current and ever changing workplace.

Programs in Technology, Construction, Healthcare, Fire Technology, Automotive, Computer Information Systems, Administration of Justice and Drafting/Engineering are examples of the variety of course and career choices.

Program courses are offered in sequence, can be very short in duration, 2-3 hours or a few weeks, some are longer (one to four semesters, depending on the program). Courses may start on various cycles and not always tied to a semester schedule. Many courses are seen as “stackable certificates.”
